September is traditionally a quieter month for WPRG and it's customers which gives us the much needed time to concentrate on planning ahead and training our operational team in preparation for the peak period. We further re-structured and recruited for permanent staff within our operational team and gave more training and development to those already in place. September also saw the last minute preparations before the AWR took effect on 1st October, 87% of our temporary workforce now have a contract signed which meets the requirements of the AWR; the final 14% to be signed will be complete once the work has been complete with the customer. A big well done to all those involved in getting the briefings, consultations and getting the contracts signed. 100% uptake so far on all those consulted which is fantastic news for both WPRG and our customers.
We have worked closely with two of the new contracts secured in the summer and have been successful in assessing and inducting staff to maintain a healthy grow with the businesses. This strengthens our position in terms of offering the right type of work to all of our loyal workforce in the 'quieter' months. We had a successful month in terms of recruiting for the new contracts but as we are now heading into peak and supporting more volume contracts we need to continue to recruit high volumes of suitable staff to continue the service. Therefore, October will be another month of massive recruitment so we expect our Resourcers to be exceptionally busy enabling our Planners to concentrate on fulfilling the requirements of our entire customer database. We will continue to offer driver recommendation bonuses as well as advertise locally, nationally and on the internet.
October's recruitment campaign will continue where we left off in September, heavily recruiting for the Driving and Industrial divisions across London, Herts and Essex.
We have exciting news about our much anticipated Management System which is currently in the trialling stages. The system will be live for our Operational and Back Office Support teams to start working with during October which will aid them in the management of all aspects of the recruitment process, our payroll, planning, administrative duties and also allow our customer base to view information in terms of auditing programs. We have spent 3 years developing this system rather than buying a generic system as it is specific to both WPRG's and our customers needs. We have had input throughout the design process from our team, customers and temporary workforce so we are confident it will exceed all expectations. Further news will be posted when the trialling stages are complete.
August has been a demanding month for WPRG to say the least. New contracts to implement, existing contracts with ever increasing and unpredictable volumes and a growing operational team. We are extremely pleased to announce how successful the month was and that we exceeded all expectations so a massive well done to the team! August is traditionally a busy and stressful month for WPRG due to the peaks our customer base experience and so it is exciting when we manage to achieve more than we set out to as well as bring on new contracts and successfully implement those that were in the very early stages at the start of August.
Our operational team has been carefully re-structured to allow plenty of cover and experience in all areas from administration to resourcers and bookings co-ordinators to senior management. This has allowed us to concentrate on servicing our entire customer base instead of just the new ones which our competitors appear to be regularly failing at. We understand the importance of our business as a whole and the need for new contracts but never take for granted those that have been loyal for so many years and continue to improve our service to them also.
September is usually a quieter time for WPRG allowing us the time to plan ahead for the extreme peaks our customers experience, which is vital. We are delighted to be confident in saying that not only do we have a team that can manage the planning for our customers and staff but we also have the highest calibre of staff in our operations team to implement and service the 2 new contracts we have been awarded during August. The two new contracts are adding to an ever growing Driving Division of the business and will enable us to offer work to our employees during the traditionally quieter times of the year; January, February, etc. Both new customers compliment our existing customer base as they have peaks at different times; this is only good news as it stabilises our position in offering drivers the continuity of work for the whole year which again, our competitors struggle with.
September could also be a tricky month as it's the final month before the AWR comes into play, all the last minute questions and uncertainty people have will be answered and put to rest when we finish the consultations with our temporary workforce and customers. We are extremely proud of how we have managed the consultations and difficult decisions we have had to make. The new contracts have made the decision making easier on us to a degree as it allows us to offer more opportunity to employees and take the stress of pay parity away from almost all of our customers.
September will see a massive recruitment campaign for WPRG across London, Essex and Herts in both the Driving and Industrial divisions due to the Christmas peak but mainly because of the new contracts we have been awarded and the expected growth in the existing customer base.
