Holiday Ban Sainsbury's
Just a quick reminder to drivers, warehouse and office staff that the Christmas holiday ban will be in place from the 2nd week of December until 1st week of January. In the main, staff generally respect this period and support us 100%. However, some do disappear for a day or two, which causes problems for us planning and supporting our heavy commitment to Sainsbury's over Christmas. Once again, if this should happen we will deal with this after the Christmas period with those particular individuals.
Periods Of Availability (POA)
We need to remind drivers to book POA correctly and ensure that it is authorised via Transport or a suppliers representative. This is a 'hot topic' currently and we are also looking at the figures closely on a week-to-week basis. If you need assistance on understanding the conditions of POA please contact Paul or Grant in the on-site office.
Vehicle Checks – Drivers
We have recently spoken to all drivers about completing the vehicle check sheets correctly. We are now 100% compliant on this. Just a quick thanks to all drivers and please make sure we continue to complete the sheets correctly.
Driver Referrals
We are continually looking to recruit drivers especially if they have been assessed and have experience driving on a Sainsbury's site. If you know of anyone eligible or drivers who are not happy with their current agency, please refer them to us. If we recruit them and they pass the assessment then a £50 bonus will be paid to the driver who referred them.
John Kiely
John Kiely is leaving WPRG for pastures greener. John has been with us for 4.5 years and has been an exemplary driver and ambassador for the business. We would like to take this opportunity to thank John for his loyalty, professionalism and reliability over the past 4.5 years and to wish him well in his new career.
Mis-directed Pallets Warehouse
We have had a few mis-directed pallets recently which can result in substantial claims and costs to the business. Best practice suggests we marshall the pallets in the RDC lanes with the labels facing outwards in the same direction. This will ensure the colleague loading can't fail to see the destination on the label facing them. However, this is sometimes not adhered to so you MUST always make a thorougher check on each pallet and its destination. All paperwork must also be checked for accuracy and completion.
